Mine is not a fuel cutoff, it is an ignition cut off. It is wired inline to the coil and when it is on, it will allow the truck to start very briefly and then trips. after it trips, it will not allow it to start even though it is cranking. flip the toggle to the other side and push the button and you're good to go again. Occasionally a Ford vehicle would be towed in that would not start because the inertia switch needed to be reset. The inertia switch was reset by simply pushing the red button on the switch. The switch could also be manually pushed to turn off the fuel pump, which worked nice for turning off the fuel pump when servicing the fuel system. Look inside the opening and you will find a red button. Push in to reset. This is called the inertia switch. Which was designed to cut off your gas source to your vehicle in a collision. If you do not find it there refer to your owners manual. Once it starts , if it cuts out again easily replace the switch.
